Infallsstrålen, also known as the solar wind, is a stream of charged particles, primarily electrons and protons, that are ejected from the upper atmosphere of the Sun. This phenomenon is a result of the Sun's high temperatures, which cause the particles to gain enough energy to escape the Sun's gravity. The solar wind is a continuous flow that permeates the entire solar system, extending far beyond the orbits of the planets.

The solar wind plays a crucial role in shaping the heliosphere, the vast bubble-like region of space dominated by the Sun's magnetic field. It interacts with the magnetic fields of planets and other celestial bodies, influencing their magnetospheres. On Earth, the solar wind is responsible for phenomena such as the auroras, which occur when charged particles from the solar wind collide with Earth's atmosphere near the polar regions.

The speed and density of the solar wind can vary significantly. During periods of high solar activity, such as solar flares and coronal mass ejections, the solar wind can become much denser and faster, potentially impacting satellites and communication systems on Earth. Conversely, during periods of low solar activity, the solar wind is weaker and less dense.

Scientists study the solar wind to better understand the Sun's behavior and its effects on the solar system. Spacecraft like NASA's Parker Solar Probe and the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) have provided valuable data on the solar wind, helping to unravel its mysteries and improve space weather forecasting.
