Industrialisere (to industrialize) is a term used in Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish to describe the process of developing industrial capacity in a country or region, transforming economies from agrarian to manufacturing-based systems. It involves adopting mechanized production, factory organization, and new energy sources, as well as expanding infrastructure and skilled labor. The concept originates from the industrial revolution, wherein technologies such as steam engines, mechanized looms, iron and coal industries enabled rapid increases in output and productivity. Historically, industrialization began in Great Britain in the late 18th century and spread across Europe and North America during the 19th century, followed by other regions in the 20th and 21st centuries.
