Indbetaler is a Danish term used in finance, pensions and insurance to denote the person or entity that makes payments into a fund, policy or account. The word derives from ind (“into”) and betale (“to pay”). In everyday usage, indbetaler refers to the party that contributes a regular amount, for example by payroll deduction to a pension plan or by premium payments for an insurance policy. The counterpart in most contracts is the udbetaler or payer of benefits, i.e., the person or institution that disburses benefits.
