Crohn's disease is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that can affect any part of the digestive tract, leading to malabsorption due to inflammation, scarring, or surgical removal of parts of the intestine.

Symptoms of malabsorption disorders can vary but often include chronic diarrhea, weight loss, bloating, gas, and fatigue. Diagnosis typically involves a combination of blood tests, stool samples, and imaging studies. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and may include dietary modifications, enzyme supplements, or medications to manage symptoms and reduce inflammation. In some cases, surgery may be required to remove damaged portions of the intestine. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial to prevent complications such as malnutrition, osteoporosis, and anemia.
