húgyvezeték
The húgyvezeték, also known as the ureter, is a muscular tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder. Humans have two húgyvezetékek, one for each kidney. These tubes are approximately 25-30 centimeters long and about 5 millimeters in diameter. They descend from the renal pelvis of the kidney, passing through the abdominal cavity and pelvis, to enter the posterior aspect of the urinary bladder.
The walls of the húgyvezeték contain smooth muscle that contracts in a wave-like motion called peristalsis.
The húgyvezeték plays a crucial role in the urinary system by ensuring the efficient transport of urine.
