Höyrykompressi, also known as steam compression, is a thermodynamic process used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It involves the compression of a gaseous refrigerant, which increases its temperature and pressure. This hot, high-pressure gas then passes through a condenser, where it releases heat to the surroundings and liquefies. The liquid refrigerant then flows through an expansion valve, where its pressure and temperature drop significantly. Finally, the cold, low-pressure liquid enters an evaporator, where it absorbs heat from the space to be cooled, turning back into a gas.
