Hënën is the Albanian term for the Moon, Earth's natural satellite. It orbits the planet approximately every 27.3 days and is tidally locked, meaning the same hemisphere faces Earth at all times. The Moon is about 3,474 kilometers in diameter and is the fifth largest moon in the Solar System.

Composition and surface: The Moon has a thin exosphere rather than a breathable atmosphere. Its surface features vast basalt plains called maria, rugged highlands, and numerous impact craters. Water ice has been found in permanently shadowed crater floors near the poles, likely delivered by comets and solar wind interactions.

Origin and evolution: The Moon's origin theory is the giant impact hypothesis, proposing that a Mars-sized body named Theia collided with the early Earth, ejecting material that coalesced into the Moon. The Moon's surface records a long history of volcanism, impacts, and cooling over billions of years.

Exploration and significance: Human activity began with robotic probes and culminated in crewed Apollo missions to the lunar surface from 1969 to 1972. Since then, robotic missions from various space agencies have studied its geology, resources, and environment.
