Háromszögeket is a Hungarian word referring to triangles. A triangle is a fundamental geometric shape consisting of three straight sides and three vertices. The sum of the interior angles of any triangle is always 180 degrees. Triangles can be classified in several ways, primarily by their side lengths and their angles.

By side lengths, triangles can be equilateral (all three sides equal), isosceles (two sides equal), or scalene (no sides equal). Equilateral triangles also have equal angles, each measuring 60 degrees. Isosceles triangles have two equal angles opposite the equal sides.

By angles, triangles can be acute (all three angles less than 90 degrees), right (one angle exactly 90 degrees), or obtuse (one angle greater than 90 degrees). A right triangle is particularly important in mathematics due to the Pythagorean theorem, which states that the square of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides (a² + b² = c²).

The area of a triangle can be calculated using the formula (1/2) * base * height, where the base is one of the sides and the height is the perpendicular distance from the opposite vertex to that side. Triangles are a cornerstone of geometry and appear in many practical applications, from architecture and engineering to art and navigation. Their simplicity belies their profound importance in understanding spatial relationships and calculations.
