Humantestis refers to the male reproductive glands, also known as testes or testicles. These are a pair of oval-shaped organs located within the scrotum, a sac of skin that hangs outside the body. The primary functions of the humantestis are the production of sperm (spermatogenesis) and the synthesis of male sex hormones, predominantly testosterone.

Spermatogenesis occurs within the seminiferous tubules, coiled structures found inside the testes. This complex process begins at puberty and continues throughout a man's life, producing millions of sperm cells daily. Testosterone, produced by Leydig cells located between the seminiferous tubules, plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of male secondary sexual characteristics, such as deepened voice, increased muscle mass, and the growth of facial and body hair. It also influences libido and sperm production.

The humantestis are sensitive organs and their development and function are regulated by hormones from the pituitary gland in the brain, specifically follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). FSH stimulates sperm production, while LH stimulates testosterone production. The temperature of the testes is maintained slightly below body temperature by the scrotum, a condition essential for optimal sperm development. Any significant deviations in temperature or hormonal balance can affect fertility.
