Hiperpolarizációt is a Hungarian term that translates to "hyperpolarization" in English. In various scientific contexts, particularly in physics and chemistry, hyperpolarization refers to a state where a system's nuclear spins are aligned to a degree significantly greater than that achieved by thermal equilibrium. This enhanced alignment can be achieved through various techniques, such as optical pumping or spin-exchange optical pumping.

The principle behind hyperpolarization is to manipulate the nuclear spin states of a substance to create a non-equilibrium population distribution. This increased spin polarization can then be used to amplify signals in techniques like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
