Heterosügootseks is a term used in genetics to describe an individual's genetic makeup concerning a particular gene. When an organism is heterozygous for a gene, it means that it possesses two different alleles for that gene. Alleles are different versions of the same gene. For example, if a gene controls eye color, one allele might code for brown eyes, and another allele might code for blue eyes. An individual who is heterozygous for this eye color gene would have one allele for brown eyes and one allele for blue eyes.
In diploid organisms, which have two sets of chromosomes, each chromosome in a pair carries alleles for
