Hastelu is a small municipality situated in the Uusimaa region of southeastern Finland. The settlement lies approximately 50 kilometres east of the capital city Helsinki, within easy reach of the Kymijoki River and the surrounding forested hills. The total area of Hastelu is about 120 square kilometres, of which roughly 15 per cent is covered by lakes and wetlands.
