Hastelu
Hastelu is a small municipality situated in the Uusimaa region of southeastern Finland. The settlement lies approximately 50 kilometres east of the capital city Helsinki, within easy reach of the Kymijoki River and the surrounding forested hills. The total area of Hastelu is about 120 square kilometres, of which roughly 15 per cent is covered by lakes and wetlands. According to the latest census figures released by Statistics Finland, the population of Hastelu amounts to approximately 1,200 residents, a steady figure reflecting its long-standing status as a tight-knit rural community.
