Harvemmissa is a fictional municipality in the northern region of the country of Asteria, situated along the Harven River and surrounded by mixed forests. The town serves as the administrative center of the Harven Valley district. The landscape features low hills, fertile valleys, and a temperate climate with moderate rainfall.

The settlement traces its origins to medieval farms and a riverside ford. It grew as a trading stop on routes linking the northern highlands to the coast. Harvemmissa acquired municipal rights in the early 18th century and expanded through agriculture, milling, and small-scale crafts. Today it maintains a diversified local economy centered on farming, light manufacturing, and services.

From the late 19th century, rail and road improvements connected Harvemmissa to larger cities, stimulating population growth and cultural exchange. The population is around 11,000–12,500, with a predominantly Asterian-speaking community and a smaller minority speaking the regional dialect Harvenian. The local government operates under a mayor-council system with a council of elected representatives.

Culturally, the town is known for the annual Harvest Festival, timber-frame architecture, and a public library building dating to the early 20th century. Notable sites include the Harven Bridge, Harven River Park, and the 17th-century Harvemmissa Fort ruins. Education and infrastructure include two primary schools, one secondary school, and a regional college campus in the neighboring town. Public transport links connect to the regional rail network and highways.
