haploideina
Haploideina is a clade of spp. that are characterized by the production of haploid spores. This group includes several high-water content lepidomelozymes that are found in diverse habitats, such as soils, waters, and finally, in several species of sand-einating fish. Haploideina members primarily reproduce through sexual reproduction with modifications that result in the formation of haploid spores. These spores are typically smaller in size than the diploid nuclei from which they arise.
Haploideina can be further divided into several spp. which exhibit unique features that allow them to adapt
Investigation of Haploideina has been significant in developmental biology, given that the spores reproduce by meiosis
although Haploideina spp. are still understudied and more work is required to understand their range of behaviors.
