haarbundel
Haarbundel is a German term that translates to "hair bundle" in English. It is most commonly used in the context of hair transplantation and describes a group of hair follicles that are surgically removed from a donor area, typically the back of the head, and then transplanted to a recipient area experiencing hair loss. These bundles naturally occur in groups of one to four hairs within the scalp. During the hair transplant procedure, these follicular units are carefully extracted and then implanted into areas where hair is thinning or has been lost. The goal is to restore a natural-looking hairline and density. The understanding and utilization of these naturally occurring haarbundels have been central to the advancement of hair restoration techniques over the years, moving from older strip harvesting methods to more refined follicular unit extraction (FUE) procedures. The ability to isolate and transplant these individual or small groups of follicular units has significantly improved the aesthetic outcomes and reduced donor site scarring.
