Génértékek, often translated as gene values or allele values, refer to the specific versions of a gene that an individual possesses. In genetics, a gene is a segment of DNA that codes for a particular trait. For most genes, individuals inherit two copies, one from each parent. These two copies can be identical, meaning the individual has the same version of the gene from both parents, or they can be different, representing distinct versions.

These different versions of a gene are called alleles. For example, a gene that determines eye color might have an allele for brown eyes and an allele for blue eyes. An individual could inherit two brown eye alleles, two blue eye alleles, or one of each. The combination of alleles an individual has for a particular gene is their genotype for that gene.
