Granulomatous disease, or granulomatous inflammation, is a form of chronic inflammation characterized by granulomas—organized nodular collections of macrophages, often transformed into epithelioid cells, and frequently accompanied by multinucleated giant cells and a surrounding rim of lymphocytes.
