gospodarce

Gospodarce is the locative or dative singular form of the Polish noun gospodarka, which mainly means economy but can also refer to the management or administration of resources. In Polish, gospodarce appears in phrases such as w gospodarce (in the economy) or gospodarka narodowa (the national economy).

As a concept, gospodarka denotes the system of production, distribution and consumption of goods and services in a country or region, the sectoral structure—agriculture, industry and services—and the institutions that regulate markets, finance and policy. It can also refer to the management of resources within a household or an enterprise, for example gospodarka domowa (household economy) or gospodarowanie zasobami (resource management).

Economies are analyzed in macroeconomics and microeconomics. Macroeconomics studies aggregates such as GDP, unemployment and inflation, and policy instruments such as fiscal and monetary policy; microeconomics focuses on decisions of households and firms. Economic systems vary: gospodarka rynkowa (market economy), gospodarka centralnie planowana (centrally planned economy), and mixed economies.

In Poland, the term is widely used in public discourse, business and academia. It appears in phrases describing policy aims, such as zrównoważona gospodarka (sustainable economy) or modernizacja gospodarki (modernization of the economy), and more generally in discussions of how resources are allocated and managed within society.
