Frontsbevægelser refers to the meteorological phenomenon of atmospheric fronts, which are boundaries between different air masses. These air masses typically differ in temperature, humidity, and density. When these air masses meet, they do not readily mix, and the boundary between them is called a front.

There are several types of fronts. A cold front occurs when a colder, denser air mass advances and pushes under a warmer, less dense air mass, forcing the warmer air to rise. This often leads to rapid cloud development and precipitation. A warm front occurs when a warmer air mass advances and glides up over a colder air mass. This typically results in more gradual cloud formation and prolonged, lighter precipitation.

Occluded fronts form when a cold front overtakes a warm front, lifting the warm air mass completely off the ground. Stationary fronts occur when the boundary between two air masses stalls, with neither air mass advancing significantly.

The passage of fronts significantly influences weather patterns. They are associated with changes in temperature, wind direction and speed, cloud cover, and precipitation. Understanding fronts is crucial for weather forecasting and for comprehending the dynamics of the Earth's atmosphere. Their movement and characteristics are tracked using meteorological instruments and satellite imagery.
