Frequentistischer refers to a school of thought in statistics known as frequentist statistics. This approach defines probability as the long-run frequency of an event occurring in a repeatable experiment. In the frequentist view, a probability statement is about the properties of a random process, not about the degree of belief in a particular hypothesis. For instance, the probability of a coin landing on heads is interpreted as what would happen if the coin were flipped an infinite number of times. Frequentist inference focuses on estimating parameters of a model and testing hypotheses based on observed data. Key concepts include p-values, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing, all of which are derived from the likelihood of observing the data given a specific hypothesis. Frequentist methods aim to control error rates over many hypothetical repetitions of an experiment. It is one of the two dominant paradigms in statistical inference, alongside Bayesian statistics.
