fosfai
Fosfai is a term used in chemistry and geology to denote compounds that contain the phosphate group or phosphate esters. In this sense, fosfai covers inorganic phosphates (such as orthophosphate), polyphosphates, and organophosphates, as well as naturally occurring phosphate minerals like apatite. The phosphorus atom in these compounds is typically in the +5 oxidation state and forms a tetrahedral PO4 unit with strong P–O bonds.
In biological systems, phosphate esters form the backbone of DNA and RNA and are central to energy
Polyphosphate materials are also used as fire retardants, detergents, and in corrosion inhibition, whereas organophosphates include
Environmental and health considerations emphasize balanced use to prevent eutrophication from phosphate runoff and exposure concerns
