ferritas
Ferritas is a term that can refer to ferrite-related materials or, in some languages, to the plural form of ferrita. In English, the standard term is ferrite, a class of ceramic iron oxide-based magnetic materials. Most ferrites adopt a spinel structure with the general formula MFe2O4, where M is a divalent metal such as Zn2+, Mn2+, Ni2+, Mg2+. They are ferrimagnetic at room temperature and exhibit high electrical resistivity. Common types include manganese-zinc (MnZn) and nickel-zinc (NiZn) ferrites. MnZn ferrites are used for power transformers, inductors, and RF components; NiZn ferrites are used for high-frequency applications. They are manufactured by sintering oxide powders, producing dense ceramic cores with low losses at chosen frequencies.
Applications include cores for transformers and inductors, EMI suppression components, and magnetic shielding. Limitations include brittleness
