Felkelek is a fictional flowering plant species described in the fantasy world of Eldoria. It is widely referenced in regional botany, cuisine, and folklore within that setting.

Description: It is a perennial herb reaching 60–120 cm in height. The stems are slender with alternate, lanceolate leaves. In midsummer it bears panicles of pale violet to lavender flowers. The plant develops a large underground tuber that stores starch.

Distribution and habitat: Felkelek occurs in boggy montane meadows and along stream banks in the highlands of Eldoria, typically at elevations between 1,200 and 2,100 meters. It favors acidic, peaty soils and coexists with sedges and dwarf willows.

Ecology and reproduction: Pollination is primarily by nocturnal moths. Seeds are dispersed by water currents during spring floods. The tuber can resprout after fire.

Uses and cultural significance: In-universe, felkelek tubers are milled into flour used for ceremonial breads, and leaves are steeped to make a mild digestive tea. Taxonomy and history: In the in-world taxonomy, felkelek is placed in the fictional family Felkelaceae and genus Felkelea. The name derives from Felk Peak, a landmark in Eldorian highlands where early settlers reportedly first described the plant. The earliest written reference appears in the travelogue The Valleys of Eldor (c. 450 Eldorian calendar).
