Fehérjedegradáció refers to the breakdown of proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids. This process is essential for numerous biological functions, including nutrient recycling, protein turnover, and cellular signaling. In living organisms, protein degradation can occur through various pathways. The ubiquitin-proteasome system is a major intracellular mechanism where proteins are tagged with ubiquitin molecules and then dismantled by the proteasome complex.
