FaseDoppler, or Doppler phase, refers to the phase component of a wave that arises from the Doppler frequency shift caused by relative motion between a source and a observer or reflector. In coherent signal processing, signals are often modeled as complex envelopes, and Doppler motion changes the instantaneous frequency, causing the phase to accumulate over time.

The instantaneous Doppler frequency f_d(t) is related to the phase by f_d(t) = (1/2π) dφ(t)/dt. Equivalently, the Doppler phase is φ_d(t) = 2π ∫ f_d(τ) dτ. If motion is constant velocity, f_d is constant and φ grows linearly with time; acceleration leads to nonlinear changes in φ. The total observed phase may include other components, but the Doppler-related part is the one tied to relative motion along the line of sight.

Applications of Doppler phase span multiple fields. In radar and sonar, measuring Doppler frequency and phase provides target velocity and motion information. In ultrasound, Doppler phase helps estimate blood flow velocity. In astronomy and atmospheric remote sensing, Doppler phase contributes to determining radial velocities and motion of celestial or atmospheric targets. In synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and interferometry, Doppler phase is used for motion compensation, focusing, and high-precision measurement of displacement.

Common considerations include phase wrapping (the 2π ambiguity), phase noise and jitter, and the need for a stable phase reference. Accurate interpretation of Doppler phase often requires calibration, unwrapping algorithms, and, in some cases, modeling of multipath or environmental effects.
