fasciculum
A fasciculum is a small bundle. The term is Latin for "little bundle." In biology, it commonly refers to a small, tightly packed group of structures, such as nerve fibers or muscle fibers. For example, in the nervous system, a fasciculum of axons forms a nerve tract, a distinct pathway for transmitting signals. Similarly, a fasciculum of muscle fibers is a component of a larger muscle, contributing to its overall movement. The term can also be used in botany to describe a cluster of leaves or other plant organs that grow together from a single point. In general usage, it simply denotes a collection or bundle of discrete elements.
