Farada refers to a unit of electrical capacitance in the International System of Units (SI). It is named after the English scientist Michael Faraday. One farad is defined as the capacitance of a capacitor across which a potential difference of one volt results in an electric charge of one coulomb. Mathematically, this is expressed as F = C/V, where F is capacitance, C is charge, and V is voltage.
Due to the large magnitude of the farad, it is often expressed in sub-units such as millifarads
