The F281P is a digital signal controller developed by Texas Instruments as a part of their TMS320F28xxx series. Released in 2007, the F281P is based on a 32-bit floating-point and 40-bit fixed-point digital signal processor (DSP) architecture. The processor is capable of processing at speeds of up to 1 GHz, supported by a bus frequency of 200 MHz.

Key features of the F281P include:

* Dual-core processing with software and pin-to-pin compatibility between the F281 and F281P,

* 40- to 62-bit floating-point and 40- to 100-bit fixed-point processing,

* 200 MHz bus frequency,

* Advanced on-chip peripherals such as components of the Peripheral Frame which includes three Timers, a GPIO controller, and a Serial communication interface.

In comparison to its predecessor, the F281P offers improved performance through several architectural updates. It fully supports Texas Instruments’ eXtensible Architecture (XBAR), offering reduced interrupt latency and real-time performance support.

The F281P has various application realms such as control systems, industrial measurement and control devices, MRI, and industrial fab clusters.
