Földbirtokosokként is a Hungarian term that translates to "as landowners" or "as landed proprietors." It refers to individuals or entities who possess significant agricultural land and derive income from its ownership and management. Historically, this term was particularly prominent during periods when land ownership was a primary indicator of wealth and social status in Hungary.

The role and influence of földbirtokosok have varied greatly throughout Hungarian history. During feudal times, large landowners often held considerable political and economic power, controlling vast estates and the labor of those who worked on them. Following the abolition of serfdom, the nature of land ownership evolved, but large landowners continued to play a significant role in the agricultural economy and rural society.

In the 20th century, land reforms and political changes, including periods of collectivization, significantly altered the landscape of land ownership in Hungary. Many large estates were broken up or nationalized. Consequently, the traditional image of the powerful földbirtokos as a dominant figure in society has largely diminished.
