Ernieren is a German term that translates to "kidney" in English. The kidneys are vital organs in the human body, responsible for filtering waste products from the blood and producing urine. The kidneys are bean-shaped organs located on either side of the spine, below the ribs and behind the belly. Each kidney is approximately the size of a fist.
