Erhvervsregistre, or business registers, are official government-held lists that document legal entities and self-employed individuals engaged in economic activities. In Denmark, the Central Business Register (Det Centrale Virksomhedsregister, CVR) is the primary national erhvervsregister. It is maintained by the Danish Business Authority and assigns each entity a unique CVR number. The register aggregates data from companies and entities across sectors and legal forms, from sole proprietorships to large corporations, and records changes in status, address, ownership, and corporate form.

The data typically included comprises: the CVR number; company name and address; legal form and industry classification; registration and dissolution dates; status and size indicators; and, where applicable, information on ownership and board members. Data may be supplemented by financial statements and reporting data for larger companies. The CVR is accessible to the public via online portals, enabling due diligence, market analysis, and regulatory oversight.
