Energyáramlatok, also known as current dividers, are fundamental electrical circuit components used to distribute input current among multiple parallel-connected branches. They operate based on Ohm’s law and Kirchhoff’s current law, ensuring that the total input current splits inversely proportional to the resistances in each branch. This principle is essential in designing circuits where multiple components require shared power, such as in sensor networks, LED driver circuits, or signal processing systems.

In a basic current divider, two or more resistors are connected in parallel, and the input current enters through a common node before splitting into individual branches. The current through each resistor (I₁, I₂, etc.) can be calculated using the formula Iₙ = (I_in) × (R_total / Rₙ), where R_total is the equivalent resistance of all parallel branches, and Rₙ is the resistance of the specific branch. The equivalent resistance of parallel resistors is always lower than the smallest individual resistance, which influences the current distribution.

Current dividers are widely used in analog electronics for tasks such as biasing transistors, attenuating signals, or providing reference currents in operational amplifier circuits. Their behavior depends on the relative values of the resistors; if one branch has significantly lower resistance, it will draw most of the input current. Practical applications also include load-sharing in power distribution systems and current sensing in industrial control circuits.

While current dividers are simple in theory, their performance can be affected by factors such as resistor tolerances, temperature variations, or parasitic capacitances in high-frequency applications. Designers must account for these variables to ensure accurate current division, especially in precision analog circuits. Despite their limitations, current dividers remain a versatile and cost-effective solution for current distribution in a wide range of electrical systems.
