Energiakibocsátás refers to the process by which energy is released or emitted from a system or object. This energy can take various forms, including electromagnetic radiation, heat, or kinetic energy. In physics, energy conservation dictates that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed from one form to another. Thus, energiakibocsátás is often a consequence of a change in the state of a system, such as a chemical reaction, nuclear decay, or the excitation and subsequent relaxation of atoms or molecules.

Electromagnetic radiation is a common form of energiakibocsátás, encompassing visible light, infrared radiation (heat), ultraviolet radiation, X-rays, and gamma rays. This emission occurs when charged particles, such as electrons, change their energy levels. For instance, when an electron in an atom moves from a higher energy state to a lower one, it releases a photon, a particle of light, carrying away the excess energy. Thermal radiation, a form of infrared emission, is a fundamental process for all objects with a temperature above absolute zero, constantly radiating heat into their surroundings.

In nuclear processes, energiakibocsátás is particularly significant. Radioactive decay involves the spontaneous transformation of unstable atomic nuclei, releasing particles and high-energy photons (gamma rays) as they strive for a more stable configuration. Nuclear fission and fusion, the processes powering nuclear reactors and stars respectively, involve the release of immense amounts of energy. Chemical reactions can also lead to energiakibocsátás, known as exothermic reactions, where chemical bonds are rearranged, releasing energy often as heat and light. Conversely, endothermic reactions absorb energy from their surroundings.
