emésztcsatornát
The emésztcsatornát, also known as the digestive tract or alimentary canal, is a complex system in the body responsible for the breakdown of food, absorption of nutrients, and elimination of waste. It is essentially a long, continuous tube that extends from the mouth to the anus. The process of digestion begins in the mouth, where food is mechanically broken down by chewing and chemically altered by saliva. From the mouth, food travels down the pharynx and esophagus to the stomach.
In the stomach, food is further broken down by gastric juices, a mixture of acid and enzymes.
