Elmúltasztásos is a concept that originates from the Hungarian language. It can be translated to English as "nothingness", "mush", or "the act of waivering", though the exact equivalent is subjective. In philosophical and literary contexts, elmúltasztásos is associated with the essence of something that has come to nothing or has failed to fulfill its potential. A more literary translation could be "nothing that has ever meant anything".

This idea is also discussed in psychedelic rock, a subgenre of rock music, where elmúltasztásos served as the name of a song by Hungarian psychedelic band, Ausztrália. Their styles drew influences from various genres such as classical works, traditional folk music, and early rock, ultimately shaping the distinctive sound of psychedelic rock from Hungary in the 1960s.
