doseille

Doseille is a rural commune in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. As of 2019, the commune has a population of approximately 280 residents.

Geographically, Doseille is situated approximately 39 kilometers northwest of Compiègne and 53 kilometers north of Clermont. The commune spans a total area of 4.5 square kilometers. Topographically, it features rolling hills and is part of the larger Verberie Stage, which is primarily a plateau-like region surrounded by smaller hills.

Administratively, Doseille is part of the Canton of Kayses-Mouy. Prior to the 2015 territorial reform, it belonged to the canton of Liancourt. The commune borders the adjacent commune of Auger-Saint-Vincent to the east and Verberie to the west.

Economically, the commune benefits from its proximity to the Oise and A1 infrastructure networks. Agriculture has traditionally been a key contributor to the local economy, with flocks of sheep and cattle grazed on land surrounding the commune.

Biodiversity is another significant aspect within Doseille, which features extensive wildflower resources. Specific wildflower species native to the region and noted in Doseille include primroses, violets, and violas. Due to its relatively small size, the commune has a relatively low urban and population density.
