digoksiinispesifisiä
Digoksiinispesifisiä are specific binding sites or targets within the body that digoxin molecules interact with. Primarily, these are the sodium-potassium adenosine triphosphatase (Na+/K+-ATPase) pumps found in cardiac muscle cells. Digoxin exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting these pumps. This inhibition leads to an increase in intracellular sodium concentration, which in turn reduces the activity of the sodium-calcium exchanger. Consequently, intracellular calcium levels rise, leading to stronger myocardial contractions (positive inotropy).
In addition to their action on the heart, digoksiinispesifisiä also exist in other tissues, including the brain
