Derleme is Turkish for the act of assembling or compiling material. It derives from the verb derlemek, meaning to collect, assemble, or summarize, with the noun form denoting the result or the act itself. In general usage, derleme can refer to a compilation or anthology—an edited collection of texts, documents, or other materials assembled around a theme or author group.

In academic and media contexts, derleme also denotes a synthesis of sources, such as a literature derlemesi or a research derlemesi, similar to a literature review or survey. Two common uses exist: as a published work, a derleme kitabı collects selected pieces by various authors; as a process, derlemek means to gather material from multiple sources into a summary or overview.

The term is frequently contrasted with antoloji, which is often the more formal, curated anthology of literary works, though the two can overlap. In education and journalism, derlemeler are used to present diverse perspectives on a topic, to provide overviews, or to preserve cultural material.
