A demigoddess is a female being who is part divine and part mortal. The term is the feminine form of demigod and derives from demi- (half) and goddess. In many mythological traditions, demigoddesses are typically the offspring of a deity and a mortal, though the exact status and powers attributed vary by culture. Unlike fully recognized goddesses, demigoddesses are usually not portrayed as sovereign rulers of a divine realm and are not guaranteed immortality.
