Dýchacie, often translated as "respiratory" in English, refers to anything related to breathing or the organs involved in respiration. This term encompasses the complex physiological process by which organisms exchange gases with their environment, typically taking in oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide.

The human respiratory system includes the nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs. Air enters through the nose or mouth, travels down the respiratory tract, and reaches the lungs where gas exchange occurs in tiny air sacs called alveoli. Oxygen from inhaled air diffuses into the bloodstream, and carbon dioxide from the blood diffuses into the alveoli to be exhaled.
