confiabais

Confiabais is the second-person plural imperfect indicative form of the Spanish verb confiar. It describes a past action or state in which you all trusted or had confidence in someone or something, typically when using the vosotros form of address. The form is common in Spain and in dialects that preserve the vos form.

Confiabais is formed from the stem confi- of confiar plus the imperfect ending -abais, which corresponds to the vosotros form of -ar verbs in the past. The verb confiar itself comes from Latin confidare, from con- + fid- “to trust.”

In Spanish, vosotros forms are common in Spain and some regional dialects. In most of Latin America, where the second-person plural is expressed with ustedes, the equivalent past tense would be ustedes confiaban. The meaning remains the same, though the form differs.
