circumnavigaties
Circumnavigation refers to the act of sailing or traveling completely around a celestial body, most commonly Earth. Historically, the first recorded circumnavigation of Earth was completed by the expedition of Ferdinand Magellan between 1519 and 1522. Although Magellan himself did not survive the entire journey, his crew, led by Juan Sebastián Elcano, successfully returned to Spain, completing the voyage. This monumental achievement proved that the Earth was indeed spherical and opened up new avenues for exploration and trade.
Since then, numerous circumnavigations have been undertaken by sea, air, and even land. These journeys have
