Buuttijärjestys, a Finnish term that translates to "boot order" or "boot sequence," refers to the sequence in which a computer attempts to load its operating system from various storage devices. When a computer is powered on, its firmware, typically the BIOS or UEFI, initiates a self-test and then checks a predefined list of devices to find a bootable operating system.

The common boot order prioritizes devices like solid-state drives (SSDs), hard disk drives (HDDs), USB drives, CD/DVD drives, and network interfaces. Users can usually access and modify this boot order through the computer's firmware settings.
