Bulbaarses is a fictional genus of bulbous flowering plants used in speculative fiction and worldbuilding. It does not correspond to any real genus, but appears in in-world flora compendia as a representative of temperate bulb-forming species.

Members are described as herbaceous perennials with rounded underground storages called bulbars. They produce slender leaves and flowering shoots bearing small tubular flowers in clusters. Colors vary by species, typically pale yellow, pink, or violet.

In most accounts, bulbaarses are native to the temperate coastal belts of the fictional Bulvara Archipelago, where fog, rocky soil, and seasonal moisture provide suitable conditions. They are said to tolerate salt spray but prefer regular rainfall and well-drained soil.

Taxonomy is unsettled in-fiction; some authors place bulbaarses within an asparagalean framework, others treat them as a distinct lineage. Reproduction occurs via bulbar offsets and seeds produced after insect pollination, aided by nectar and scent.

Ecology and uses: Bulbaarses provide early-season nectar for insects and offer shelter for small invertebrates. They are valued ornamentally in-world for foliage and spring blossoms, and the bulbs are described as edible when properly prepared.
