Borkészítésben refers to the process of winemaking in Hungarian. It encompasses all the steps involved in transforming grape juice into wine. This journey begins with the harvest of ripe grapes, a critical stage where the quality and ripeness of the fruit directly influence the final product. Following the harvest, the grapes are typically destemmed and crushed to release their juice, known as must.

The next crucial phase is fermentation, where yeast converts the sugars in the must into alcohol and carbon dioxide. After fermentation, the wine undergoes further processing. This may include racking, where the wine is separated from its lees (sediment), and clarification, often achieved through fining or filtration, to remove suspended particles and achieve a clear appearance. Aging is another significant step, during which the wine develops its complex flavors and aromas. This aging period can range from a few months to several years, and the choice of aging vessel, such as oak barrels, can impart distinct characteristics. Finally, the wine is bottled, often with a cork or screw cap, ready for consumption or further aging in the bottle.
