Bochornos is a rural locality situated in the western region of Ukraine, within the Rivne Oblast. Administratively, it forms part of the Dubno Raion and is incorporated into the local hromada system, which provides municipal services and governance. The settlement lies on the banks of the Styr River, an area characterized by rolling plains and mixed forest-steppe vegetation.

Historical records indicate that Bochornos was established in the late 17th century, emerging as a modest agrarian community under the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. Following the partitions of Poland, the village became part of the Russian Empire, and later, after World War II, it was incorporated into the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The settlement retained its agricultural focus throughout these periods, with grain farming and livestock breeding constituting the primary economic activities.

According to the most recent census, Bochornos has a population of approximately 1,200 residents, most of whom are ethnic Ukrainians. The local economy remains predominantly based on smallholder agriculture, supplemented by a modest timber processing sector and seasonal employment in nearby towns. Cultural life centers on the village church, built in 1889, and an annual harvest festival that showcases traditional music, dance, and culinary customs. Infrastructure includes a primary school, a health post, and a road network linking Bochornos to the regional center of Dubno.
