Axiomaattisessa refers to a system or approach that is based on axioms. Axioms are fundamental statements or propositions that are assumed to be true without proof. In mathematics and logic, axiomatic systems are used to build complex theories from a small set of basic, self-evident truths. The process of axiomatization involves defining a set of undefined terms and then stating a collection of axioms that govern the relationships between these terms. From these axioms, further propositions, known as theorems, are logically derived through deductive reasoning.

The goal of an axiomatic system is to create a rigorous and consistent framework for a particular field of study. Consistency means that no contradictions can be derived within the system. Completeness, while desirable, is not always achievable, as demonstrated by Gödel's incompleteness theorems, which show that in any sufficiently complex axiomatic system, there will always be true statements that cannot be proven within that system.
