Axilární is a term derived from the Latin word "axilla," meaning armpit. In anatomy, axillary refers to structures or regions associated with the armpit. The axilla itself is a pyramidal space located between the upper arm and the chest wall. It contains important neurovascular structures, including the axillary artery and vein, as well as the brachial plexus, which innervates the arm. Lymph nodes are also concentrated in the axilla, playing a crucial role in the lymphatic system's drainage of the upper limb and breast.
The term "axillary" can also be used in other contexts. In botany, an axillary bud is a
