apteekista

Apteekista is the elative case form of apteekki, the Finnish word for a pharmacy. It means "from the pharmacy" and is used to indicate origin or source of medicines, information, or products in everyday language. For example, Osti lääkkeet apteekista (I bought medicines from the pharmacy). In Finnish, apteekista is commonly used in contexts involving prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and health advice obtained at a pharmacy.

An apteekki is a licensed retail outlet that sells medicines and health-related products. It is staffed by licensed pharmacists (farmaseutit) and pharmacy technicians who dispense prescription medicines, provide dosage and safety guidance, and help customers use medicines correctly. In addition to prescription medicines, apteekit offer non-prescription medicines, health products, and basic health services. Many pharmacies also provide services such as medication reviews, patient counseling, and, where permitted by law, vaccination programs or health screenings.

Regulation and professional practice are governed by national legislation and European Union medicines rules. Medicines must be stored, labeled, and dispensed according to standards designed to protect patient safety.
